His arms and hands waved erratically in front of her face. "Wait, wait. Hold up," he yelled, "What?"

And she thought she’d been clear.

“I,” Aeryn placed her index finger on her chest, “am,” with a sweeping motion she gestured over her abdomen, “pregnant. Again.” She even spoke it in English, although she wasn’t quite sure of the word ‘pregnant’, but the man was a frelling tech. He could figure it out.

The look on his face strongly reminded her of Arnessk, when she’d suggested a name for their first child. Aeryn’s lip quivered. Goddess help her if she started laughing.

His mouth moved for a few microts before any words actually came out, but, in Crichton fashion, they were jumbled. “Another one? But, but D’Argos only…what? Two? Are we ready for another one? What happened to ‘three is a scary number’? Do you think it’s a boy or a girl?”

Aeryn smiled at the scared and joyous expression on his face. At least this time she wasn’t hiding it from him, or worried that it belonged to someone else, or a little weirded out by the fact that even if it was his, technically, it wasn’t.

This was new. This was nice.

“Yes, another one. D’Argo is nearly two, and yes, I think we’re ready for another one. As for the ‘three is a scary number’, you missed that discussion because I resolved it while you were unconscious. Anything else you want to ask?” she teased, tilting her head slightly to the right.

“No, Professor Sun, I think I’m good now.” His face brightened, and he pulled her to him fiercely. “Another one,” he whispered into her ear. She could feel his grin against her cheek. “One step closer to a baseball team.”

Her eyebrows shot up, but he was too busy hugging her to see. Just as well. She’d watched a few of the sports his kind had created, but none seemed interesting.

“So,” he pulled away, “What is it we have to do to get the little guy out of you? Injection, some torture, PK device?”

“Injection. Noranti can probably make it herself—it’s just a few chemical stimuli to regenerate growth of the fetus. You know,” she caught his eyes, “We don’t have to do this right away. We have all the time in the universe.”

“Yes,” he nodded, “But why wait? We’ve been through too much to waste time. The sooner we have this one, the sooner we can have more!” His enthusiasm sparked a memory of searing pain.

Grimacing, Aeryn looked down at her flat stomach. “You have them then, and see how much pain you can handle.”

His smile was huge. “Yes, Ms. Badass Solider.”

“Frell off.” The smile got even bigger.

Well,” he moved his face dangerously close to hers, That’s what got us into the trouble in the first place, wasn’t it?”

"Shut up, John Crichton, and frelling kiss me already."

The man knew when to follow orders, at least. Maybe she could have a few more of his children, and just maybe she could spend the rest of her life with him.

Especially if he always kissed her like that.
